A Look Inside

About

Who am I?

I’m currently working as a Technical Account Manager for a software startup. I’m married to my best friend and the love of my life. We have a two year-old son that will be smarter than me by the time he turns five and a baby girl on the way that promises to stretch my abilities as a father as I never could have imagined. Outside of my family I’m passionate about my relationship with Jesus Christ, business, technology, social media and sports. I enjoy talking to people who do and have done incredible things with their lives and careers, and am striving to be one of those people to others.

Why the moniker?

“Turbo” started as a highschool nickname for my fleetness of foot, or more specifically the lack thereof. It works out well in the digital age because Andrew Joseph Brown and all of it’s derivatives are ridiculously common. Seriously, try to register andybrown@anything.com as an email address…it’s already been taken. Turbo, on the other hand, is significantly distinguishing. How many people do you know that go by Turbo as readily as their own first name? If your answer is more than zero you win a prize. Am I worried about the lack of professionalism? No. Although I’m happy with the name my parents gave me, names have been reduced in our society to something that gives us the ability to get the attention of our desired target in a crowd. My professionalism comes from how I communicate and deal with people not from what I, or anyone else for that matter, am called.
